AIS off. Low idle 2 Years, 5 Months ago
Thought everything was good, and maybe it is. R* is cold blooded. Since I took the AIS off the idle speed when cold had dropped way of. Even with the choke on it doesn't idle as high as it used to. Once it's warmed up it goes right to where it's supposed to be but now I have to leave the choke on full longer to keep it running and on half longer before it straightens itself out. What did I screw up?
Thanks

Check the vacuum nipple on the carb to make sure it's not leaking.

That's the rubber dooflopper you have to take the tank off to get to? The one I had to put on when I took the little hose off. Don't mean to be so technical.

Musky,

You sound like a happy guy! Anybody that can deal with the intricacies of a "rubber dooflopper" has got to have a lot of technical savvy!!

Hey pday

It's from the "Road stars for the very inept, shouldn't touch a wrench, not too bright, stop now and take it to the shop, service manual. Wrote it myself.

I think I may need to buy a copy of that before it wins the Pulitzer prize and the price goes up!

Put me down for 2 copies of that manual, in case I lose the first one.

I am having the exact same problem. I capped off the nipple, but it was kind of an old cap. I am going to try a newer one thats maybe a little smaller and see what happens. If it works I'll post a reply. Did you also notice a drop in gas mileage?

Hey Urbanwarrior

This is a brand newe Barons AIS removal kit so the last thing I thought I had to worry about was any leaks. I haven't been able to ride enough since I did it to tell about mileage. I'm going to try and check it out for leaks today.
