New roadie smokin!! 4 Years, 3 Months ago  
A while back I noticed that my bike would blow a small puff of smoke when I shifted gears. Asked the question on here and a couple of good folks replied. Just to let folks know....it was the gas. Must have had water in it. I burned it out and replaced it with a better gas and it is fine. Rode about 110 miles this weekend and not a bit of smoke...

Glad you got it cleared up! Mine started doing the same thing, I took it to the dealer, they said I was running too rich, they are the only ones at that time that had turned a wrench on the bike so I let them readjust the carb again. After they kept it over a week they told me I had water in my gas also , After they readjusted the carb they took it for a test ride and it shut down on them and they could not get it to crank back up, so that is when they said they found the water in the gas. I could not figure this out becouse even though it was running rich, I just got back from a week long trip to Dayton which I put about 1,700 miles on the bike within that week. It was running good just a little smoke....But now my bike is happy I put about 300 miles on it this weekend!

Gas is really starting to suck now days. The crap they are putting in it doesn't help. Nothing like watered down gas to line the oil company's pockets.

I usually add Sta-Bil Fuel Treatment/Stabilizer to my Gas when I have to let my Bike situp for a while, I have not had any problems with it so far, Runs Great, I put about 300+ miles on it this past weekend.
