Chrome switch housing 4 Years, 3 Months ago

Has anybody purchased a set of chrome switch housings for your control switches? I was wondering how hard it is to change your switches over from the stock dull gray housing to the chrome housings. I currently have the kuryaken chrome switch covers that I bought last summer, but due to my personal taste and my attention to detail, I honestly don't like them. They look nice and all, but I like the actual housings and everthing showing. I did end up purchasing a set of chrome switch housings on ebay the other day and should be at my house tommorow (thursday). So Doc, Musky, or anybody else have any experience with this type of thing? Whenever I get these things installed, I will have the Kuryaken covers for sale for a great price. Thanks guys

I run a motorcycle repair shop. I haven't done anything on Yahama handlebars yet, but I have on a lot of Harleys and a few Hondas.
The switch housing is pieces held together with 2 screws. The switches are held in the housings with a couple more screws. You will be tethered to the handlebars by the wires but changing the housings should be a piece of cake.

I bought a set of e-bay for about $70
Piece of cake to replace the stock ones. Just have to be careful not to lose any of the small screws holding the circuit boards and switches inside the box.
Much better than the covers. Check here for a pic ... Chrome switch housing

Me too! Bought a set on ebay. Very easy to swap the internals and mount them on the bars!

Doc, roughly how much did it cost you to have your front brake reservoir chromed? Would it be cheaper to have it chromed or to do a chrome exchange with a company like Cycle Image?
