Oil tank capacity 5 Years, 3 Months ago
I have no idea why but I am trying to figure out how to replace the oil tank and battery assemblies and reconfigure that part of my Roadie.
Anybody know how much oil the tank holds?

Pretty sure the tank is half of the Roadies capacity. So ignoring the .3 cuz that's getting pretty picky it would be 2 1/2 qts. Or close enough. Remember that we have a pressurized system so anything you do needs to take that into account. Are you doing something to the frame? You can make it look different in that area by making the side covers in a different shape.

thanks for the info, I figured it was in that neighboorhood too.

Stock frame but I don't like covers on anything really, I like the mechanicals to show and that whole area under those covers is butt ugly. So some judicious measuring and figuring and I think I can get a tank fabbed to fit along with hiding the battery. Of course since I moved the fuel pump under there I have to do the pumpless fix too to get it out of the way. if it isn't one thing its another.

It may be a pipe dream but you just never know until you start tearing stuff apart.

It's OK, I'll get over it.

Wife works at Opus One (it goes for $180 a bottle) so I drink very well!

Just saw the post .... hmmm ... little too late.

You can change out the tower part of the stock oil tank (the part that holds the dip stick) for a flat top if that's what you're after.

$180 a bottle not $150!
Very nice, very smooth but not the kick of JD. Well except I have about 60 bottles of it so I have plenty of kick on hand if I need it. Best part? FREEE!!!! That always makes it taste better.

Doc I'm looking to pull the whole smash out of there if I can. An experiment eh?
