YOU should be wired into a separate white plug inside the headlight housing
Check it out...
When I got my 2005 R* Silverado ..the dealer just stuffed the wires into the connectors for the running lights and my lamps were acting up too..loose connections..yep they wired up the passings lamps all wrong...
Check to see that the passing lamps have good connection and they are
connected to the white dual plug inside the housing..

There is a separate circuit for your passing lamps with a relay and they should only come on when the engine is running...

this the plug yer lookin for...
As you can see the dealer ignored the plug on my bike..and it had a cap plug on from Yamaha...
I had to cut this plug out entirely cus the dealer cut the mating half out..and so I wired to the two feeding wires one ground and one live(only when the motor is running) with butt conectors...
YES I lost a little confidence in the dealer..

JUST the 2005 and up Silverados...You will wire yours to the blue running light wire if you want it on all the time or the high beam or low beam yellow or green...unless you install the Kuryakyn remote switch and relay assembly
Kury Pasing lamp switch

Well I found my problem. Loose wire at switch (re soldered)
and a bad left bulb. Where is a good place to get these
H3 35W 12V bulbs and how much do they cost?
Thanks

Problem is most auto stores carry the H3 50 watt...and you want the 35 watt
H3 35 watt bulb
so I ordered on line....or get raped at the dealer...

H3 bulbs come as 35 watt and 55 watt. They can be gotten at any auto parts store; if they don't have them in stock, they aught to be able to get them.
If you are interested in high intensity (35 watt with 70 watt light output) I can get them for you for my cost + 10% + shipping.
