Idle adjustment 2 Years, 7 Months ago
I think my idle might be a tad too fast My tach reads 1000 rpm after a run
But is slower when cold The idle increased slightly when I added new exhaust
Do I just turn the adjustment screw counter-clockwise to lower idle??I went to do this and seemed to be resistance there like a springy effect Didnt want to break anything so I did not force it.. what should I expect to feel?? A resistance then ???

Post edited by: Pop Rivet, at: 2006/06/14 02:22

I've had to adjust mine a few times here lately and it does feel strange. Like it isn't firmly mounted and yeah, springy. My guess is it's like this so it doesn't vibrate and turn on it's own. Anyway if you turn a little harder it works.

Post edited by: Musky, at: 2006/06/15 18:27

Thats a normal feeling for the idle, and you are right, it is for vibration. It will turn without breaking so after the bike is warmed up you can set your idle to your liking. My idle increased to when I installed new pipes, V&H longshots HS this is normal as well
