It has a different sound than my Honda. The character of a big V-twin is a little talk from the motor What you call obnoxious is music to MY ears... An air cooled V-twin the size of the R* is going to talk to you... The explosions in the Cyl head and the resulting noise are not muted like in a water cooled motor.. Good oil will quiet it down somewhat... If you come from riding a British air cooled bike or a Harley the R* is QUIET .. If you are used to a Honda Shadow Liquid cooled bike or even a Goldwing the the R* is going to be noisy... As for the front end I took the bike to my mechanic and he didn't even get out of the parking lot and came back telling me it was the steering head loose. I just thought I might be able to tackle it. I don't have a manual so is there any where on the net with the step by step instructions to do this. I do my own work on my race car so I have a basic knowledge around tools and equipment, however having a little knowledge can be dangerous if not applied correctly.
