Electrical Wiring 8 Months, 2 Weeks ago
OK...My bike has a 250 rear kit. No tail lights...smooth fender.. side mounted tag with LED run and stop light which is working BTW. The rear tail light harness is still intact detached from stock connections. Now I bought a pair of LED bullet tail lights which has 3 wires...red ( high intensity)black (low intensity) and a white ground. I also purchased a KURY R/T/S CONTROLLER. Now....how do I wire these 3 tail light wires to the existing rear stock harness wires,( which goes where) keeping the controller in mind. The controller is obviously plug and play.

Thanks , Dan

As far as I know KURY makes plug & play controllers only for Harleys and a couple of Honda models. If they have added one for Yami's that is great! Under the seat (below your left hip pocket as you sit on the bike) are the wires going to the rear end. They are brown, green, yellow, and blue.there is a plug there. If the controller is plug & play for the road star, then just separate that plug and plug in the controller. There are 2 black wires to hook to ground and you are good to go.

I just checked the kuryakyn web site and they now have 2 controllers for Yamaha. #4612 is for 04 and up, #4613 is for 99 thru 03. the picture dosen't show ground wires. So just pull the plug on your bike apart and put it in and you will be off & running.
