Anyone install this on an '05 R*? Does it work as described? How about the wiring colors? Does it match up to a Roadie or do you have to trace wires?

Post edited by: rmruder, at: 2006/06/29 22:23

This isn't an answer. Just an FYI. They have a plug and play version that plugs into the wiring harness under the seat. The downside is you have to be willing to wait until Kury gets their head out of their A$$ and get it in stock. According to their last vague answer to my emial it will be at least a month.

Thanks for the info Musky!

I'm getting ready to install silver bullets to replace my front and rear turn signals and thought it would be a good idea to add this kit at the same time. Guess that's not going to happen! Is there anyone else you know of that makes a controller for metric bikes besides Kury? One of the reasons I went with the silver bullets is that I was looking at the "new" Kuryakyn rear signal and license plate unit that is custom made for the Roadstar since about March and they keep pushing back the release date. Imagine that! Originally they told me June, then July, now it's sometime in the Fall of 2006. I'll believe it when I see it......I figured if I wanted new turn signals this year the silver bullets were my best answer. I do like them and was debating about either those or the complete rear kit anyway and this way I can match my fronts to my rears which I like better. I also understand that my fronts will no longer function as running lights like they do now without a special kit for them. Do you know if that's true?

I've read some threads on this over on the RSR site. People were having trouble getting the controllers to work. Kury told them that they were having trouble with Yamaha wiring. Which means they are selling a product they know they are having problems with. So you might not get it to work. In the tech tips there are instructions for hooking up run turn brake. I think it's for the units designed for HD but as long as it works who cares. They did mention a Priority one controller on RSR. Don't know anything about it. I don't know why you would lose your front running lights. But I haven't hooked one up. I'm still waiting for the plug and play.

In case anyone is actually waiting fot the Kury plug & play Run - Turn - Brake controller (besides me). I emailed them today and there answer for this round of questioning is - "We should have them the last week of July, you should have yours the first week of August".

Musky,

Just got my Kury plug & play Run - Turn - Brake controller this afternoon. Had it on order for about 3 months. Unit is extremely easy to install. Had the roughest time with the red bulbs. The tits on the base are a little different from the ones on the amber bulbs for the rear turn signals. I finally knocked one of them off with a grinder and life was simple again. Unit works great and the whole effect is really slick! I think it'll be a lot safer riding at night too.
