I just put 16" on my R* this last weekend. As far as the risers are concerned you can have your factor ones milled out for the bars to fit. I did it myself with a dremel and alot of patience. I ordered the good n tight bushings as well to eliminate flex. For those, clutch cable and throttle cables I paid $225 through Barons. Had a SS brake line already laying around though. Try to get some pics asap.. Hope this helps

what do you mean you had to mill out the risers? Mine is a 2000 with the 2 separate risers, do I have to mill them out too? Did you use the kong bar or another kind? Thanks for the info..

With the apes that I got which are 16" 1 1/4" Buffalo Bars, the width of my risers are wider than what Harley risers are I believe. I had these on my V-Star 650 as well that had two seperate risers and had to have them milled out as well. Not sure on the R*. Mine has the single riser. The part of the riser closest to the rider was narrow enough but the taper to the front got even wider. Tried to get a pic to upload for you but didnt work for some reason. I will see if I can get a pic to upload tomorrow showing you what i had to do..

Nice sled dragger
