Need help bleeding front brake 4 Years, 2 Months ago
Hey Fellas,
I am changing over to the nostalgia bars and I had to move my brake line to behind the triple tree. Now I have bled brakes on an airplane, but not on a bike. Any help would be appreciated. I am to cheap to buy a speed bleeder or anything like that.
Thanks

Leave the cover off the res and pump the lever slowly and hold while you open the bleeder. Repeat until it's good. Don't pump the lever quickly or it will squirt out the top. Make sure you don't let the res run dry while you're ding it.

Thanks Musky,
So I remove the res. cover, slowly pump the lever, hold it in, then open the bleeder on the caliper?

Yup. Just like bleeding a car. You work the lever until it feels pumped up then you open the bleeder. Once the air squirts out close the bleeder and do it again. Don't let go of the lever until you have the bleeder closed or you'll suck air in.

Yep just like bleeding the breaks on a car but it don't take two people to do it. Make sure you close the bleeder before letting the lever go. And like Musky said DON'T let the reservoir run dry keep adding fluid to it. Have fun. It helps if you put a clear hose on the bleeder and run it into a clears glass bottle with a little fluid in it so air doesn't creap back into the system.

Hey Musky, my sister in Montreal told me that they have had the most snow that the city has ever experienced. She lives in Laval and the pics that she has sent are truly amazing.
