I think they're officially called passing lamps. Do you have the halogens or the sealed beam kind?

I'll let someone else chime in, I THINK the 2004's have the sealed beam. If everything else is working you might have a bulb problem. Sure you haven't tripped the switch for them? I know it's a dumb question, but I've done dumber things.

If the fuse and wire connects seem to be good, try a test light on the switch and see if you are getting power to the switch, if you get power to the switch and none past that point then replace the switch, if the switch functions properly recheck wires behind bulbs with the tester light to see if you are getting power there.

I spent an hour once trying to trace down the problem with my running lights. Then I saw I had turned off the switch. Always start with the easy stuff first.

Let me step in here with my expert knowledge on this subject. When I took my Roadie out from its 'winter hibernation'.. My left side passing light didnt work. As I stepped back to ponder the situation, and think of the best way to render a solution to it, I smacked the light at a 45 degree angle with about 10 ft.lbs. of torque from my right hand. It's worked ever since. You might get the same results from your left hand also. Dont know but I'm sure someone might know if it works or not. Good Luck
