tires 9 Months, 1 Week ago
Anyone using Avon or Cheng Shin tires. Trying to decide on what to put on my 05 Midnight Silverado. I got 10,000 out of my OEMs; but the back looks like a racing slick (it got away from me fast). I see threads on Dunlop, Bridgstone and Metzs. So give me some knowledge.

Most on here are running Metzlers and seem to like them.
I decided to go with Conti Milestones, only have maybe 200 miles
on them but much better than stock so far.Feels like I have
more grip in the corners

I'm having Avon Venoms installed as I type this. Main reason I went with them is the higher load rating. Michelin Commanders also have the higher rating.

Didn't care for the stock Bridgestones, so I put Avon Venoms on the 1st change. Got about 12,000 miles out of them. They squeal like hell in the turns. I got 15,000 miles out of the Dunlop 401s on my Fatboy. Guess what I'm running on the Roadie. If you can live with the Harley-Davidson logo on your tires, I highly recommend 'em (you can usually get 'em for around a hundred bucks).

Got about 7000 miles on stock Bridgestone. Changed to Dunlop Elite III and love 'em. I've only go 7500 miles on it now to total milage is to be determined. Good luck with your decision.

I recently installed the fourth rear tire on my R* at 36,400 miles the original was a Dunlop, yhe rest have been Continental. That is an average of more than 12,000 per tire. I would say that the tires I install are roughly evenly split between Dunlop, Bridgestone, Avon, and Continental; with an ocational Metzler, Maxxis, Cheng Shin, or IRC thrown in.

I've been running the Dunlop Cruisemax on mine. Put 14000 on the last rear tire.

Had factory Bridge's..hated them. Cupped bad, wore out fast..6k the rear was slick. Ran Avon venom's for awhile...great grip , softer rubber, cost a few more bucks, didnt last as long but still got good miles out of them,...sorry dont remeber exactly how many. Have the Metz's now...thier my favorite. With 5k on them they still look new. No cupping, great grip, very responsive.

I put a cheng shin on the back of mine when I got my roadie, put 7,000mi. on it then I got a matched set of maxxis. I kept the cheng shin to put on my harley it still has plenty of tread left!!
