Just my 2 cents but you should trim the knob so it stops short of touching. That way you know for sure.

Well, got the NGK's in this evening and the AIS pulled off. The Denso's that were in it were black with soot. I fired it up for a second and it sure sounded better.
I'll have the carb off this weekend (I hope) to put in the Maxair PMS and I'll double check that the choke knob is not touching.

Well, here is the latest...
I just got back from a 50 mile ride and I don't think I'm going to rejet the carb. At least not soon. Now I know how a Roadie is supposed to run!
The Seafoam through the carb helped but changing the Denso plugs to new NGK's really helped. The Densos were coated with a fluffy carbon buildup. It was mainly from the choke being on. I had to trim almost a 1/4" off of the knob before it would seat plus it had the chrome cover. I used my Dremel to do the mod on it so the knob would sit deeper.
Now I just have to get a decent seat on it.

Glad to hear it! seems like these roadies need new plug every 5000 or so to stay on top of their game.
