Royal Purple must be getting more popular around here. Price went way up So I might be hunting for a new brand myself. Hope I can find one the bike likes as much as RP. If I can't I'll just have to bite the bullet and pay the price.

I didn't think so at first... I was looking for info about Harley oil and came across this article about how H-D is finally endorsing the use of synthetic oil on "Smart Synthics dot com"...

Then I realized the site is an indipendant Amsoil dealer...
Either way, I figure... what ever Polyalphaolefin based lubricants people use, as long as it works and keeps our rides on the road and out of the shop... that's what counts!

Hey bartish

I think alot of the syn oils are good, but Amsoil seems to be pretty poular among the guys on the RSC. They (Amsoil) also have a filter, the EO, that is so good it'll make the oil cleaner than it is in the bottle! Besides, it's chrome! If you only changed your oil once per year, that's more often than they say you have to. (20,000 miles) So... I'm thinking that Amsoil motorcycle oil, when used in conjunction with their EO filter, is definitely the cheapest (least expensive) oil you could run!!!

www.amsoil.com/products/streetbikes/WhitePaper.aspx Check it out.

I just changed to 20w50 Amsoil bike oil... and a Nissan oil filter. (15208-65F0C) At least I know the filter is quality.
