This is probably a crazy idea 9 Months, 1 Week ago  
and it may would never work, but I know a guy who said that he would sale me a tank that he had off of a road* and I was wondering if I took that tank and cut the bottom part off, could that somehow be made into a tank extension. I don't think it would ever work, just thought I would get your opinions.

I don't think so. It's easier to graft onto the back the tank, either metal or glass extensions.

I would have to agree with Doc. I just put a glass extension on mine but i also had some welding done to it to relocate thegas cap and remove the dash. My buddy did the welding for me and said it was very tricky because the metal on the tank was very thin and melted easily.

Just my 2 cents.

I found that out the hard way. Bought a tank with a dent in the side. When I went to pull out the dent I melted a hole in the side.

Amatuer welder.
