You need the flanges. I got mine from Barons. It gives you everything you need. You will have to re use the metal gaskets that are on you bike right now so make sure you keep track of them when you take the piecs off the heads. http://baronscustom.com/html/catalog/browse/yamaha/roadstar('04-'05)/PE?category=PE&p=2&

dvblair: Has anyone cut off the heel portion of the shifter? I never use it and would like to have the extra room. I would like to remove it but it looks like you would need a spacer on the shaft and I'm not sure ...
