If its too loud, your too old!!! I agree they "can" be very loud at times. But they dont "have" to be. Now Im not gonna say that I have never gone under a bridge, heard the call of the wild, and mashed the throttle as hard as I could, and I know you guys know what I mean, but Im not one that punches it to be completely annoying and obnoxious in a quiet neighborhood. But my bikes gotta have a voice I have the longshots HS and I think they sound great... Rolling down the road and hearing that solid rumble under ya, in my opinion theres nothing better. If your not whalin' on it, they are fine.

Well when I bought my bike I knew I wouldn't like the factory pipes so I had them install V&H longshots rode it home about 3 miles pulled into the garage & took the baffles out ,they have been laying in that same spot for 2yrs. now ....Now if you want some real sound do this. I don't have cars or trucks trying to come over in my lane because they don't know I'm there. I guess there are advantages & dis advantages to everything.

I also have the Long Shots and they were a bit loud for me as well. I purchased a set of V&H quiet baffels for them and I really like the sound now.

Oh, they were $60.00 for the pair.
