06 AIS removal 2 Years, 5 Months ago
|
|
Keep in mind I am a new Road star owner when I ask this question. I have done a search on this site for the AIS removal on the 06. I am not sure if it the same as the 04 or not. Can someone lead me to where I might find the removal directions and also what I might gain from removing the Ais.
The only mods I currently have is HK 3" big shots. I am getting it jetted and dynoed on Tuesday.
Thanks,
Ironhead

Hey ironhead
I'm a new Roadie owner myself.
It's the same for an 04 & 06. I followed those diretions on mine and it worked with no problems. Removing the AIS will help get rid of popping on decel. But mainly I just like how much cleaner the motor looks without all that crap hanging there. You won't realize how much better it looks until you take it off. And it also frees up some space for air flow.

You need the flanges. I got mine from Barons. It gives you everything you need. You will have to re use the metal gaskets that are on you bike right now so make sure you keep track of them when you take the piecs off the heads.

Highest mileage R*? 2 Years, 5 Months ago
|
|
Hey everyone,
I just wondered the other day, exactly how many miles am I gonna get outa my R*, if I keep it for many more years. I heard of a guy on Vancouver Island B.C. that had a 1990 HD Sportster with 437,000km on it. The R* is twice the bike a Harley is, and should go even farther. How many miles has each of you got on your R*s? What is the most anyone has ever heard of on a Roadie? Thanks, StarMyram
