31 tooth pulley 5 Years, 9 Months ago
O.K., set me straight. Going from the stock pulley on a 2005 Roadstar to a 31 tooth. Will that decrease your rpm at 80 mph or increase your rpm. I see it as a lower gear in the rear end of a car. The lower the gear, the more top end, where as a 411 rear end will give a great take off, but more rpm and less top end. Am I explaining this correctly? At 70 mph the rpm is around 2500 on a stock pulley, with a 31 tooth that would drop your rpm to around 2348 rpm. Set me straight. Am I seeing this backwards? Thanks, Paul

Post edited by: pharri, at: 2006/08/02 05:02

Smaller front = Higer RPM @ 80

Smaller rear = Lower RPM @ 80
