pipes turning yellow 4 Years ago
Just put new pipes on and with in minutes turned yellow . Cheap chrome or something drastically wrong ? Had other straight throughs on and never did that . now these did . Been told that with stock air box and pipes only , no need to re-jet

Cheap ass pipes from florida bikes / $159.00 + shipping . Bike runs strong but turned yellow within minutes . That wouldn't be a jetting problem , would it ? I would think it would take a few days . With stage III it actually ran rich . Making me vervous . Rode about 60 miles yesterday on the interstate . tons of power ever from the get go . Let me know what you think .

All pipes turn color. That's why they came up with heat shields. What's your jetting?

If they have chrome on them they will discolor..unless the pipes are double walled, or like Musky said heat shields, and for 159 bucks, I bet the chrome is not the best in the world..

KREEM the people who make a fuel tank sealer also make a liner for pipes. It can only be used on brand new pipes! If they have been installed and the engine run once it can't be used! You take a new pipe and thoughly clean it, plug one end, pour the stuff in and plug the other end. Flip & flop the pipe around to completely coat the inside, then open the ends and hang to drain all day or over night. Give it a second dose hang to drain again and it's ready to go. You wind up with a ceramic lining on the pipes which is an insulator.
