Speedo Backlight bulb change 5 Years, 9 Months ago
Hello all, I was wondering if anyone has changed the speedo light to a different color bulb or if this is even possible. I would like to know if anybody has info on this.

Thanks,

Kevin

Hi Kevin,
I haven't done it on my Roadie, but on my V-Star, I just pulled out the light bulb and spray painted it red. Worked fine. I may have used high temp engine paint, but I can't remember for sure.

That will do it aceman.

Go to a hobby store and pick up a small jar of a clear color that strikes your fancy.

I am replying to my own topic. I took apart my speedo and I was surprised to find (4) tiny bulbs that look like mini mag light bulbs. These are easy enough to get out with a slight turn of a flat tip screw driver. Anyway, I colored all 4 of them red and I now get a nice red/orange glow through my speedo plate. Looks good and I like it.

I was not sure if anyone else has had this apart and had encountered the small bulbs.

I hope this helps someone else that might want to color their bulbs and have a different back light on their speedo.
