06 roadstar runs bad 8 Months ago
Help i have tried everything i can think of. I have an 06 roadstar midhight with hard chrome 3" with baffles. The bike will run great most of the time but sometimes i am pretty sure it drops a cylinder. I have been a mechanic for 35 years and have road even longer but this is new to me!!!! I have tried seafoam thru the carb running and let it sit over nite , also in tank and crankcase. No help I changed the plugs and plug wires as i stated in my last thread and the bike ran great for a few days now it is doing the same thing i i think it was just a fluke . This is going to sound strange but it seems to do this pretty much in the same place every day.About 1 mile after i leave work in the evening and it will pop and backfire and cut out no power for about 1 mile then it clears up and runs great from then on!! I have also cheaked for vacume leaks found none. Plugs in rear cylinder are black as if extremly rich plugs in front cylinder are white as if extremly lean This is strange seeing that the intake and carb are common to both cylinders!! i also tried switching coils from one cylinder to the other to see if maybe a coil was breaking down but same cylinder was effected. If anyone can help i would appreciate it Thanks!! George

It would be best if you continued this in your original thread. It makes it easier to keep track of and easier on those trying to help.

Thanks
