Ok Roadies...
The project is getting underway, trying to coordinate and plan at this stage...
So, just a few notes:
With using the stock, spoked-wheel double-disc brake set up
it's hard to find a reproduction Indian leaf-spring front end...
most are 6 1/2 " I.D. at the axle, and with the 7" hub and the double disc, the roadstar needs an 8" I.D.
I'm still trying to avoid the additional cost of jig set-up and re-tooling fees to have this front end fabricated. (or use an 1100 vstar wheel)
The Indian Scout gas tank is also not working out with my frame design...The tank is too tall to use with a straight center frame cross member and the over 'over-the-tank' design. I'm going to have to alter the center frame rail design to mimic the cylinder head angles, and have a custom tank built to slide down into the new frame. This will keep the profile of the machine lower and narrower than stock.
Has anyone seen the new Yamaha R1 in red? Take a look at the wheels if you do...It's a very cool color: dark grayish gold #1
This is going to be the color of WARSTAR...even with paint being months away. LOL (Until I find a cooler color, anyway.)
Also working out a possible 'oil in frame' system to free up some area in the petrol tank as I had first planned.
With the huge 1 3/4" single down-tube frame design...I've been calculating the capacities for oil storage...about 45 inches of tube is needed to gain the 2 1/2 quarts oil storage area.
Meanwhile, I'm still thinkin'...

I may go back to the oil in the fuel tank set up...that keeps the oil cool as well...I may end up with a 40 mile cruise range. LOL
However ,the O.I.F. should pan out.
As for the wheels...I have considered other front wheel options,
I'm just trying to use as much of the stock parts as possible.

Oil in the frame can work real nice.
For thsoe of you looking for a springer, check out Sugar Bear in LA. Does mostly HD springers but he's been building them for 30 plus years and does whatever you want. Sweet stuff and might be a resource.
