Stock cables OK? Can they be drilled for internal wiring? Website about replacing handlebars? Any good tips to removing those chrome caps on the handlebar clamps without scratching them? Any hidden tips to share? Use a small flat screwdriver or a watch screwdriver and simply just pop them up. The bars come with a plastic clamp on the back of each side to hold the electrical wires. I have never seen the bars drilled to internally hold the wires. I would think that the strength of the bars would be compromised by doing so. But, I am not sure. Cables for all controls should reach fine as the bars are what comes on the Road* Silverado anyway. If they are the 04 and up bars the ends screw in I used a rag and channel locks I also have the Sears robopliers with the rubber covers on the teeth too. Any hidden tips to share? You won't have much luck at drilling through the chrome with a standard HS drill bit. If you have a dremel grinder take a roundend grinding ball and grind through the chrome leaving a small dimple where the hole will go. After you have ground through the chrome you can then proceed with a standard HS drill bit the rest of the way. Internal wiring will be tough on 1" bars. my bars had an elongated hole that went under the controls and stuck out a bit past also. The easiest way to get the weights off (If threaded) is to wrap them with a good amount of duct tape. I did that and used a channel lock and they popped right off.
