Air Box 4 Years ago
Can anybody tell me the best way to modify my 2000 stock air box.I really don't want to spend 200.00 on a new BAK or something similar.I have a set of Samson street sweepers on the bike as well. What about rejetting?
Thanks - JB

You could do the Mr.Cs air filter mod. And yes, You will more than likely have to rejet.
Here's a link, I hope it works. Mr Cs air filter

JB , you can drill a few 1" holes in the housing of stocker for more air and leave the paper filter in and be fine. If you drilled then installed a K&N filter you are putting yourself in a situation where you will more than likely need to rejet. BB

You could do the poormans BAK - Poormans BAK. If you start messing with more air you will probably have to jet.

I was able to drill eight 1 1/4" holes in my stock airbox and installed a K&N filter. Works well.

Re:Air Box 4 Years ago
They both work.

The BAK is a simple ait filter. Pretty easy to jet for. The HC has moving parts. The HC can be harder to jet for. I hear the HC also sticks out farther than the stock airbox so that might be an issue. Might not. But if you like the HC get it. It will work fine.
