#91897 rdunbar123 (User) Fresh Boarder Posts: 57 k&p engineering filter 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago   A friend of mine with a road king bought a new filter that advertises an cleanable stainless steel mesh oil filter with less pressure drop and even claims an HP increase. It is made by K & P engineering. It is pricey but it is also chrome. Has anyone heard of this? After about 10 oil changes it's paid for and from then on you're actually making money on the darn thing. Since I have no intentions of trading my girl in I don't really see a downside to this. Besides, if it's good enough for Doc's beautiful custom ride, it's bound to be good enough for my plain jane road humper. Doesnt say anything good about the stainless filter.... But then he might have shares in purolator ... I look at his recommendations objectively. I think the biggest thing i took from the article is the micron size. since most tolerances in an engine are in the 1000's, this makes the most sense. i kinda use it as a guideline/reference point when switching filter brands/types. still comes down to this...go w/ what works. some of these guys have been running their various filters for a long time....   Logged       The administrator has disabled public write access.
