I read that thread subject and was sure it was gonna be Too Much Information...then, I was trying to think how you'd make it less TMI...clearly "My Back End Squirms When Ridden" is out...as is "How Do I Tighten My Rear End for a Long Ride"...come to think of it maybe Loose Rear End is the lesser of the evils

Regards, Ted

jpflipper... I'm down here in So. FLA and you're not imagining anything... it's real...
But, it's also the road you're traveling too...
I've noticed that the composition of the road makes a big difference...
For instance the final lift they put on a new highway has great grip... but, the truck traveled roads are slicker 'n owl sh.. stuff!
I think it has a lot to do with the "fillers" they use... Gound up shell and coquina is the preffered filler down here, as apposed to the shale rock they use everywhere else...
Definately stay away fromm the center of the travel lane and tar snakes too...
Just be carefull and keep a safe distance... 'cause it ain't no fun at all when you hit the brakes and nothing happens!
(Although, it does get the blood pumping!

Just today I noticed a small drip from the rubber vent hose extending from under the spring. I wonder if this is dripping on the back tire as I ride?

What is actually venting from the hose?

I didn't catch what year your road* was but if it has spoke wheels it could be loose spokes mine were loose at about 20,000 miles and the back end was kind of squirmy if the spokes are lose they will not ring the same when tapped on with a small wrench but before you try tightening them yourself find someone that really knows how to do it correctly. Good luck and ride safe.
