new rodie owner...First off... Secondly...Now that's scary... I just did my oil change at 9k and I used Castrol 20/50 Synthetic to... I would not expect or accept any blow-by from my Star... You need to check your oil level and the location of your crank case vent hose... These Big Girls are no slobs... They run tight and won't let you down... Do a thread search for "how much oil" or "breather hose"... (Up in the upper righ corner of this page...) Good Luck!

If your talking about the oil coming out of the crankcase vent hose they all have some. If your valves aren't making noise I wouldn't touch them. First scheduled adjustment is at 16 grand.

Are you sure it's actually "piston ring blow-by" and not just the crankcase venting itself with the reciprocation of the pistons? A good indicator of ring blowby is usually combined with excessive oil consumption.... and most RoadStars will not use a drop of oil between drain intervals.
Only way you can wreck an RS engines rings is to run the snot out of it when it is still cold without lettin her warm up first. Only 9,000 miles is nothing, unless the motor was run hard cold too many times.

Heck at 9000 miles you probably still have plenty of cross hatch on your cylinder walls...mine still had it at 19,000 miles But I don't burn any oil to speak of nor have I checked it since I had the recall done and new rings installed?
We use to run non-detergent oil in engines that didn't break in right and had blow by...non-detergent oil would gum up the walls a bit(I know all you guy think I crazy for posting this ) and fill in the areas that had blowby...not suggesting that you do that but curious if anyone has done that on a RS?
Not kidding, we also use to take Ajax (yep the stuff you scrub your sink with ) and sprinkle it down the carbuerator of some engines to help break in and seat the rings. Most of the time it was on old motors and was a last resort prior to tearing the motor apart. It worked sometimes.
