AIS Removal on my '02 R* 3 Years, 11 Months ago
Looking to do this project on my ride this weekend. I couldn't find and specs om the rubber plugs that I need to use to close in the holes in the heads? Where can I find them?

Advice?

Thanks,
Kimball

You don't use rubber plugs. They're metal. You can buy or order a kit. Or if you have any fired 45 ACP cases around they work too.

if you use the 45 casing, do they just tap in plain, or do they need a sealant?

No sealing needed. Just make sure they're fired cases.

Did the AIS removal and replaced the main switch/steering lock today. Had to wait to get the part in from the local dealer. Used the spent .45 ACP casings to plug the AIS holes, and it worked great! Got rid of that annoying whine that the intakes create when there's back-pressure on the engine on downshifts.

SO SO glad to be back on the road, even though it's 1000 degrees here in Phoenix most days now.

Thanks for the advice, and ride safe!
