Here's a point to ponder ...
Will your life insurance company pay your benefits if you're killed while riding & wearing a Non DOT helmet?
After two years everything is covered.
And yes, they would. Same as if you weren't wearing a seat belt in a car. Hell, most states don't even have helmet laws so it's not even the same thing.
Life insurance is something I believe in. It's cheap and my wife will be taken care of and not have to sell the house/property if I die. If you have kids and your family depends on you as a main provider, then it's pretty stupid to not have life insurance of some sort.
Agreed! I'm worth upward of 8 years of income dead. I ride, I enjoy it, and I understand it is not without risk. I have a son that is 13 and depends on my income for his well being and keeping. I don't seek death, and I don't fear it quite like I once did, nor do I fear it's consequences. It's a fact of life. I cover the income that would be required of me to see my son to adulthood, and though I am divorced now, I trust his mother to see to his needs with my life insurance.
Funny thing about some insurance, as DK said, after a certain period, almost anything is covered in most term life policies. Mine will even pay off on a suicide, (in case I happen upon Hillary dirt!) but it won't pay off if I die scuba diving or snorkeling, snow skiing, racing any motorized vehicle, or any form of sky diving, hang gliding, parachuting, or any other non powered flight. Go figure.
