Upgrade speakers for Scala Rider? 1 Month ago
We recently got a Scala Rider Q1 Teamset so the boss and I can converse when wearing our full face helmets. First thing I found out on the trip to Eureka Springs, was I can not get them loud enough to hear the Maps voice directions from my phone or even the music clearly from the phone (not really interested in the music anyway). I have the volume up all the way on the phone and the headset both, but the engine noise still overpowers it. Today wife and I went on a ride and we could hear each other for the most part over the intercom but the sound was tinny. In short has anyone running Scala or a comparable system found a good set of upgrade helmet speakers that are substantially louder / clearer? The Q1 temaset has a regular speaker plugs so that should not be any issue - just need better speakers to plug in. I did space them out to where the speakers are closer to our ears which helped a little but not a lot. We both would prefer not to go to earbuds if at all possible. Buck from OKC did recommend an upgrade but my CRS has allowed me to forget what he told me. . . . .

I know your old but your not deaf!!!! Could you be unconsciously ignoring the wife?

While I don’t know anything about the Q1, our 4-5 yr old G9 system is excellent performance and sound wise. Be it helmet to helmet coms, the fm receiver or bluetoothed to the phone for calls, pandora and google maps navigation.... I’ve never had any trouble with them. Could there be a problem with your unit?

Maybe some other Q1 users will chime in on their volume experience.

Enjoy the ride while the weather let’s you!!
