My two cents worth. Harley people are the one's that take themselve's too seriously. I've had snot nosed wanna be's give me the hard eye and cold shoulder till I'm sick of it. The whole Harley gig is about individualism but they all look and act alike. Give me a break. I routinely flip off bad dude Harley guys that don't return the hand wave when passing. And, don't start me about sport bike a**holes that have no respect for common biker decorum.

Like I said earlier, I could not believe the treatment from the Harley dealers when they found out I was comparing imports. Even the majority, not all, but the majority of Harley riders have a chip on their shoulder about any, and all metric cruisers. Now that being said, I still wanted to persue my Springer soft tail, but had no idea how uncomfortable, underpowered, difficult to handle, and loose the HARLEY was till I rode a R*. I mean no disrespect to those who own and ride Harleys. I'm glad they love their bike. I just don't get the I'm better than you attitude from any other riders.
I don't always get the hand wave when passing, but I have always and will always give my unique wave.

I flash the "hangloose" thumb and pinky..... why you ask?
It is the letter Y in sign language. Love my Yamaha !!!!

Its the one that fits ME

I guess it's time for my 2 cents. I have several friends that have Harley's and they are great guys. They respect my decision to buy a Road Star and not an HD. I respect their decision to ride HDs. To me owning a Harley is currently a fashion statement as they are way overpriced. I am not into fashion statements. I do find the V-rod to be interesting and I wouldn't mind trying out a Buell Ulysses, but Harleys in general ain't for me.

I just like the way the RoadStars look! To me they look like more of a complete bike than most Harleys. But for some reason, I really like the RoadKings Too bad it's too expensive for me at this time

I would like to own a RK one day. But I love my R*!!

I agree with onefastbob...I think its a fashion statement also..and the HD dealers are a lil snobby also...I got real turned off when I was looking for a bike an 1999 ...the way the HD dealers attitude was...like take or leave it...with a price gouged sticker also...why would anyone pay several thousand over sticker... I dont get it...I ended up buying a used goldwing....rode it about 8 years no problems...I didnt even go back to the HD dealer...when I went shopping for a new bike....went to my local Honda dealer...I was gonna buy a 1300 Honda...funny I didnt like any of the colors ...so he showed me the Yamaha line..rode the 1300 still didnt like the color..and the feel of it...felt high on the bike...so he brings out the Roadstar...I liked it very much...sit real good except for the reach on the bars.(which I fixed that with risers..)Started it up...WOW.....I really liked that...1 ride sold me....The more I ride it....the more I like it.....I would take it over a HD anyday.....
I like being different from the (in crowd)...anyway...

Warstar and thebru....I'm with you the Kawasaki Mach 3 triple is more intriguing to me than a Harley as well. Those are wicked bikes. I have a friend who has one...it a project bike that he tried to sell me. His brother passed away and the bike has sat in the garage for years unridden after he looped the bike backwards in A THIRD GEAR WHEELIE!!!!!

I seriously thought about buying it...they are the nastiest sounding bike ever...so tempting but my better sense tells me I'd get in a lot of trouble with that bike.

Not Really! I did awhile back but realized it would only be imaged based. I was much younger then! My Dad has a 01 Road King Classic, and I have to say that there are things I like better about it, but the are more of convenience. I like the Quick release bags the most and their larger size, and the quick release sissy bar. I do have to say that to though the Roadie is a much sleeker voluptuous bike to me. I like the lines much better!
