RPM limit question 3 Years, 6 Months ago
Being new here I might be missing an answer to my own question but here it goes; Why such a low rev limit? I understand you can change the limiter, how high will it be then? My last bike was an Electra Glide which I put a screamin eagle box on it and I beleive it would wind up to a hair over 6k. Under 5k rev limit ought to make this engine run forever! Thanks for any info! Brian.

Not sure I understand the question Would you rather be able to wind it out and Shorten the life of the engine? Your's has a 4750 rev limit. You can get a dyna 3000 ign box and wind it out to 5500 but I wouldn't go over 5000 if it was me. And that's only 250 over stock.

No, not wanting to shorten life, just seemed excessivly low limit in this day and age. I was more interested in the design reasoning. Thanks for the info on the optional module! Brian.

Yeah, if you're looking for a scoot that is happy with a 5 digit redline, this one isn't gonna be it! It's the nature of the beast I'm afraid.

2800 rpm at 80 mph all day long that is a sweet sound.

Low-compression, long stroke and push rod valve train... yup, it's all about the torque, and I do love torque.

I've got an '01 98 incher, the revs are limited to what? 4,200 or 4,250?

I almost never hit that limiter.

With the big air, freer-flowing aftermarket exhaust, and jetted carb, there's only more of it!

Too much is just enough!
