The welded on shield that is....not the inner pipe...

Yes I suppose that you could put it like that but I consider them a double walled pipe because the inner pipe is completly enclosed unlike most pipes with heat sheilds.

Blue Job will remove the blueing without a doubt, and with only moderate rubbing.

Wrong ..the inner pipe is not completely enclosed...the shield goes halfway around the inner pipe and cross pieces are welded across the back
of the inner pipe to the sides of the heat shield
the inner pipe is fully visible from the backside and blue instantly...

I have the dual wall pipes on my Bike and that is the way they are..

same as the DD longshots(Big Straights??) you are talkin about
in fact Roadburners license the technology from
DD Hardkrome and offer the same lifetime warranty (er one year) against blueing

I was so sure that those pipes had a life time warranty against bluing that I had to see for myself and it turns out that I was wrong. Now I'm beginning to wonder if the dealership offered the warranty because I could have swore that's what they said when I went with a friend to purchase some although that seems unlikely.

Also, they need to take this off their website. It's misleading.

"Why Doublewall?
True Doublewall construction was created to eliminate bluing — a pipe within a pipe! Because of the way they're designed and made, this unique feature keeps every Hard-Krome pipe looking beautiful from Day One."

Exactly the point I was making... however in my opinion the "doublewall" is a really nice pipe...the shields are solid and thick absolutely no pinging on cool down and chrome is nice..but a pipe within a pipe is clearly a stretch

Re:Blueing Pipes 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
I went with my buddy to order the pipes while he had a new tire put on which is when I could have swore the guy said a life time warranty but I'm not naive enough to think they would stand behind a six hundred dollar pipe with only a one year warranty so it was either my mistake or the dealership. I was also with him when he picked them up but another friend put them on while while our family's went on vacation togeather.

Anyway, that doesn't change my mind about the pipes because I've heard them side by side with some almost identical vance and hines long shots (which I like) and I prefered the double D's, but they really should take the misleading statement off their website.

Re:Blueing Pipes 3 Months, 3 Weeks ago
If "one pipe blue and the other is perfect" means the front and rear pipes; the reason is that the mixture is not the same for both cylinders. If you have a carb after the air goes through the carb and the gas is mixed with it then the mixture is split between the two cylinders they don't both get exactly the same thing. Therefor the temperature of the exhaust going into the pipes is not the same; so one may blue and the other not.

If you have fuel injection the mixture may still not be the same; however, it can be adjusted to make them the same. The adjusting has got to be done on a dyno.
