I'm with Java... all I run is shell, no problems, same as in my pickup. Maybe they'd just filled their holding tanks and it kicked up sediment? Or maybe they did have water in there, who knows...

I live in a one gas station town, so it's Shell or nothing. I've run Shell from day one and never had a problem, but I noticed that when I add a couple ounces of MMO to a tankful it runs smoother.

I am with you Rider, none of that Chavez oil. Althouigh I would hope our Congress gets off their arse and vote to drill here, drill now. I would prefer to support United States oil over any other.

I hear ya! I passed up $3.43 per gallon gas (not from around here) to get some good old $3.67 per gallon from a local guy (American). That cost me an extra $0.96, but in my book chalk it up to a good cause! [[however, he should lower his price just a little...and he knows it!!!]]]]

I've had good luck with Shell gas in the roadie and anything else with a carburetor. It is usually the most expensive gas you can buy in town, as compared to FasGas and PetroCan.
But we used to have nothing but greif with the first generation of complex EFI Chevy/GMC Vortec engines that came out in 1996-1998. FormulaShell gas was buggering up so many injectors/tubes and causing engine misfires that GMC apparently sent out a bulletin telling dealers to advise customers to avoid Shell, Turbo, or any other gasolines that had Shell's "exclusive additive." I can't remember for sure, but it was something like ?potassium? that was in the gas to raise the octane, enhance cumbustion, and protect the valve seats in older engines that were designed for leaded gas.
I think Shell has gotten it all straightened out these days, and seems to be pretty good stuff.

Say that sounds like great ad slogan material...
"Fill up with Pennsylvania gas and give your motor the Sheets..."
Alright... maey it needs a little polish...
