Be carefull with the 1 finger salutes. Had a riding buddy do that around Roseburg,Oregon 5 years ago, gave the salute as the cager went around him and the cager pulled in front of him and hit the brakes. Down went the Goldwing with them sprawling down the freeway. They spent 4 days in the hospital instead of on the road on vacation. Oh by the way, the dude got arrested for attempted vehicular manslaughter! He is now in prison.

GOOD! I very rarely give the ol' half-a-peace-sign. I'll yell out, "NICE DRIVING!!!!" though.

I pretty much wave to all bikes. I don't care what anyone is riding, and most of the time, we're passing each other so fast, there's no time to tell, other than to see that it's a cruiser or a sportsbike. I refuse to wave to motor-scooters, though. Ain't gonna' happen.

As the owner/operator of a bike repair shop; I will change tires on scooters, and change oil on the on the ones that have 4 cycle engines; I don't want to do anything else on them though. In the interest of good will and in the hope of making a buck I wave at them. I have a customer that had a breakdown and didn't have a phone, a scooter stoped to see if he could help and phoned me for him and then waited untill I got there.
Remember they are on two wheels with no spare just like we are! (Don't treat them like some HD drivers treat us.)
