I was gifted with the red Sears lift last Christmas... works great. Have had absolutely no issues with it whatsoever.

Absolutely not. Just roll it under and pump the pedal... up she goes.
You do need to pull on the bike handlebars a bit to get the bike off the kickstand, as the jack can't quite clear the left-side frame rail... but stand the bike up a bit, and it rolls right under.
The jack arms are long and rather far apart, so when you lift the bike, it's very stable on the jack.

Use the Pep Boy's red jack which I got for $49 after rebates.
Works great and saves a lot of time!
Be sure to have the safety clip set if you are not going to lower the bike down on some blocks. Also good idea to always leave your kickstand down so that as the bike comes down it naturally falls back onto the stand... instead of going on over all the way to the ground   And no, I have never had that happen, but have heard of it happening and can understand why. |

I agree with Lake... I always leave the stand down when it is on the lift, unless I need that space while working on it... and if I do, I put it right back down when I'm done there.
The other choice is, of course, to strap it to the lift with the tie-downs provided, but who has time for such trivialities as that?  |

I use the Larin red jack - got it used on Craigslist for a song - I've seen it sell under different label private brands. I have to lift the back up slightly when sliding under the frame to clear the left side, and it works great.
