Ghost Brackets 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago
I was wondering, do the rear fender rails ("eyebrows" stay on along with the Ghost Bracket studs? If I remember correctly, I had to remove the rear fender rails on my old V-Star when I installed Easy Brackets.

I have the Easy Brackets, very similer to the Ghost Brackets. I have run mine with the eyebrows, and also with the backrest sideplates. I would think you could mount them without the eyebrows, but you would have your saddlebags rubbing the swingarm or wheel and pully more. I wouldn't do it.

So they fit right in inset holes in the eyebrows?

They stick out about an inch. There's not an recessed holes in my eyebrows. Just bolt right up against it. They need to stick out about that far in order to clear the belt.

I've only had mine on a couple of weeks but so far so good. Only downfall I am aware of is they clank every now and then if you hit a bump just right.

+1 on what he stated. They are posts that end up sticking out. You remove the bold holding the eyebrows or backrest in place and mount the post in those holes with a longer screw that they provide.

They also do rattle if your going over bumps with empty or lightly filled bags.

Hey BB....any problems with them hitting the guard or anything?

I like that look as well but assumed they would bang into things.

Thanks....greeny

Well , now that you mention it.........the bolts I used to hold the bags to the brackets were too long , and I did end up whacking the belt guard with it before I figured out what to noise was. Cut the bolts flush with the nylon nut , and presto....no more issue. Other than that , no issues whatsoever. BB

From what I've read, it seems that the neither the Easy or Ghost Brackets accepts the stock leather Silverado Bags. Is this true???

I don't see why they wouldn't work with the stock Silverado Bags. You bolt the bracket onto the back of the bag. I'm not looking at my stock bags right now, but I can't think of a reason why you couldn't just bolt the bracket onto the back of the stock bag just like any other bag.

The main thing you need to make it work good is a good, flat back to the bag.

Look at Hotelfox's bike pic. Looks like he has stock bags on his and I think I remember him having either the Easy or Ghost brackets. I don't see studs like the Silverado but I think that's the only difference between the two.
