Front brake noise... 4 Years, 7 Months ago  
Anyone have front brake noise? Mine sounds like loud high voltage power lines...is this normal? 07 R*

yep mine does it also....5200 miles...it makes less noise now,, than when it was new...I think the back brake done it for awhile also

To some degree ... should be somewhat loud when applying and for a bit after letting go of the handle and then hardly noticeable.

Yup, that's what it does, I thought my buddy was going to lose his ride when his head snapped over to look at what was making that noise. Man, did I laugh...

Yeah, they're sport bike brakes, and that's the sound they make. Probably will quiet down over time, somewhat.

They sure work well, though, don't they?

I think it's caused by the holes in the rotor.

Mine did it too. The dealer said it was because of the slotted disc rotors. It has quieted down over the first 1000 mi. No problem!

Brakes work great, just wasn't sure about the noise, didn't want to have a problem...and I really enjoy the bike.

Every sport bike I have owned does it and the road* like others stated uses slotted discs. Metalic pads are a little louder than the stockers but I hardly even notice the noise.
