Well, if there's one thing I know, it is that every moment is of vital importance and nothing is trivial. Make the most of each day, and even if they do drift away for a time, they'll be right back riding with you again before long. Enjoy!!

Both my boys have ridden with me ever since their feet could sit flat on the passenger floorboards. My oldest, 11 years old, loves it when I pick him up at school on the bike. Increases his "cool factor" a notch or two. I have considered a harness for my 7 year old. He has fallen alseep on me twice this year.

Awesome... I think my next purchase for the bike is going to be the taller sissy bar and luggage rack. I can strap her book bag to the luggage rack, and away we go!

My oldest started riding on the back of my Sporty at 8. She's 31 now with her own 1100 V-Star Custom. Now she's keeping up with "the old man". Kudos to her and you Frank.

Thanks, Bob and Greyphart!! It's wonderful that so many of you have brought your kids into riding. I think it really is a chance to restore the balance of trust and maintaining a strong rapport with your kids. My daughter hasn't hit the "terrible teens" yet, but hopefully, through things like this, they won't be such a time of turbulence. (He said hopefully....)

Good job Frank! Seems Daughters will always ride with dear old dad , it's the boys that "outgrow" it. My wife and I opted not to have children , but had we , I too , would hope He or She would love riding as much as we do. Keep up the good work (You know , getting the next generation of riders primed).
Wendy (my wife) has fond memories of riding with her dad as a little girl on his cb450......your daughter will have those same memories. BB

Yep!! "The Next Generation." So far, I've gotten her into Jeeps and bikes. (It helps to offset the frou-frou ballet crap)

At the risk of creating one of those stirs on the board. Frank I noted in your photo that you were wearing a helmet, sturdy boots, leather jacket, but missing an essential piece of gear ( IMHO) GLOVES. When we take a fall our hands will often hit first as a normal protective move. I always wear gloves, at least fingerless when really hot, and recommend it to all. Take it for what it is a freindly suggestion as even a minor slip can mess up an unprotected hand

Yep. I knew someone was going to point that out. You're absolutely right. I should have been wearing my gloves. Thank you.
