Re:Daughter's first ride 2 Months, 3 Weeks ago
As you all may remember, I have nine children from 25 to 6 years old. Only the three youngest have ridden with me several times. Because the two youngest are so small, I am afraid of losing them. So I restrain myself and take it easy. My little girl (6) weighs about as much as that horrendous full face helmet. I'm afraid she will get whiplash from it if she turns her head!

I think it would be great to have a decent passenger seat with armrests I could install quickly just for them. In fact, it would be great to have a side-by-side so I could ride two of them at once...or all three!

When I'm on scuba trips to Cozumel, Mexico, it's common to see a whole family all perched on a single motorcycle.

Man, I've seen the same in Indonesia...dad, mum riding side saddle, baby in arms and 1 or 2 others.

Crazy neighbor that I used to have, would have his little daughter straddle the gas tank and hang onto the gas cap.

I'm thinking about taking my 5 year old son for a ride, maybe this weekend.. he's got on back when I've been in the driveway and seems to do ok holding on. Plus he's got boards to use. Just need to find him a helmet.. any pointers from others? Sorry for hijacking your thread Frank.. you've got the right idea man.. this should surely be a family activity. Get them involved now and when older, they can ride their own with you.

They do make children's helmets (seems like my buddy bought HJC FF helmets for his kids). We started riding the kids (I carried his oldest) at 5 and 7 , both still enjoy riding. BB

I'm sure they make them, kids helmets I mean. I was at some go cart races a couple of weeks ago and they 5 years olds out there running. Helmets were bigger than they were. but it was fun to watch.

My Daughters both have full face Scorpion helmets. I found they have sizes small enough for youngsters, and I like the quality of the helmets. We have a shop near by that has huge selection of helmets and the Scorpion was the best fit for my youngest daughter'e head. I do no know if they go small enough for kids under 10, but worth a look.
