Some laws are just stupid. Having to have the license plate perfectly horizontal#$%%^ What? Does this mean a cop can give you a ticket every time you make a turn?

While they were ticketing you, did they miss the speeding SUV that was weaving as the illegal alien driving, tried to keep his pit bull from spilling the cocaine all over the butts of the assault rifles?

Remember, the people you elect create these stupid laws...
The LEO is just enforcing the law. Makes me wonder what evil acts do vertical plates commit?

Thanks for the heads up!

I like the helmet on the knee thing...pretty funny. I never heard of that.

Back when I used to subscribe to Easyrider Mag there was a section for odd news. Seems a guy was stopped for having his helmet strapped to his knee. He was pulled over and told to wear it on his head. Within a few miles he lays it down and... busted up his knee.
Kinda odd, I just told this story to a guy not 2 hours before reading this post.

Odd position to take, mind clarifying why you'd feel that way about the people who, for the most part, will take a bullet for you?

Just asking.

Re:License Plate Ticket 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Unfortunately my experience w/ law enforcement is that most seem to be negative, hateful people who are sour on life in general and will take advantage of a situation if they can. Now that being said, having several friends in law enforcement and hearing what they deal with day to day, I can totally see how the career would turn a person that way. I feel sorry for them on one hand. Dealing with low pay, danger and lack of appreciation. On the other hand I know they chose that profession and it takes something different than me to be able to go that route. Good for them but I couldn't make that sacrifice every day.

As for the "tax collector" cops, those annoy me especially. The politicians make the laws but most cops determine if they overlook certain things. Like here in TX, police tend to not bother with cruisers who have minor equipment infractions. Think of something as common as speeding. If I can see people speeding wayyyyyy over the limit any day of the week, then why can't a cop bust them? It's because they choose not to.

Respect our law enforcement officers... But, that's a pretty lame ticket, regardless.

Re:License Plate Ticket 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago
Unfortunately it boils down to money sometimes, overtime details with the intent to ticket. Not fond of them myself, but to each it's own. Command dictates, some even mandate no warnings and all tickets. The vertical plate does make it harder to read while moving in traffic, not the crime of the century, but is what it is. As for choosing, yes there is officer discretion on which to enforce. Surely people have @$!&HEADS they work with and do not make the best decisions either, LEO's are no different. As for the negative contacts, police do not get called or dispatched to things that are going great. Sure its negative when a dude is beating his wife and gets arrested (not saying that was your contact), but as I said before, usually someone has less discretion when they have not have some wild experiences of their own. Used to run from them, now I am one, go figure.
