Good men have bad things happen to them. Hope you bike didn't receive to much damage. Things have a way of working out and I am sure the truck driver will get his one day all on his own with no one to help him.

Good for you being a good samaritan and sorry for the mishap!
Clifford
I have to say that SrarCruiser06 is the only RoadStar Clinic member that I have met. He has a friend who
lives in Lake Placid, Fl; he came to Lake Placid to visit his friend Who is a biker also. They came to my shop for a visit and it turned out that the friend and I know each other.

Well on behalf of my fellow truckdriver, I appoligize for the actions of the turbulence that caused your bike to fall. He certainly did not mean it. And in many cases people around Trucks don't look far enough ahead to see roadside emergency's such as you stopped, and therefore they stupidly block Trucks in that lane... not allowing him to move over a lane like he would want to. A good thing to do is to park the bike with the tight side towards the flow of traffic with the rear towards the line and front tire near the edge of the road, (Like 2 O'Clock from the solid line) It makes it more visible and more resistant to the tip as the blow by wind is stressing the kickstand side. It's the law in most states to move over for 911 vehicles and common curtesy everywhere to move over for people on any roadside, sometimes they can't because people block them in a lane.

Imagine the turbulence my Rig makes.......

But I can only go like 62.... and no one would have let me over either, If he saw it happen he's sick about it too. I hope the damage isn't too bad. I'm kinda looking for an attractive chrome strip to put on the bag to cover same type damage.

Thanks all... Both for your concerns and comments...
MS1700, no need to make any appologies for any one who climbs into the cab of a rig in order to go to work!
I never thought, for a second, that the driver had intended any malice... it's like I said... "You know... he's just working..." As a matter of fact, my hat goes off to you and all your fellow drivers for doing the job you do...
BTW: Is that a Road Train you're driving?
As far as the bike is concerned I need a new passing lamp ring, a right hand mirror and a bunch of 000 steel wool and wax to get tone down the barely noticable, (except to me...) dings in the chrome on the right crash bar and lower muffler...
Oh, and remember those hard bags I got from my righteous dealer dude? Well, now I need to decide whether to repaint them in the black pearl that I got them in... or remove the dings and paint them white to match the bike... Oh well, decisions, decisions...

If you pulled over to help me and this happened. I'd feel bad and buy you lunch or a beer at least.

Starcruiser, That's a set of Triples, Shorties. (More dangerous than long because they get loose faster and 'Crack the whip.' I hate to tow the things myself but deal between Union and Company anyone who can qualify HAS to take the License and keep it up in each state needed.
I like to refer to them as Triple Trouble! But they have the best safety record of any combination on the road. How I don't know maybe because of the training and the requirements, No nuts are permited to drive them, even if they have an endorsement.

Anyways, I have same problem with bag, But I think it will happen again so I am going to find some more easily to replace chrome for that area. I see 'Dude's' in town with custom Chrome all over their car in odd places, I have to find who bends it and cuts it like that and get some.

Always nice when someone mentions a mishap like this so we can all tune up our awareness so it may not happen to us.

Hearing a story like this is like hearing nails on a chalkboard!

eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
