hey i was wondering what other riders thought about deer wisslers and if you think they realy work a friend of mine just had a real close call with some deer and bought some of thiese things i just wonder if they realy work

I dont know about the electric ones, but dont waste youe money on the ones you just stick on your vehicle. I've been driving truck 28 years, I've never hit a deer. 2 years ago I put a set on the semi and I've hit 4 so far..... No, I dont have them on backwards. 1 cost me $7000 damage to the front end. Yes, I've had some near misses before the whistles, just never hit any. Not saying they attract them, just that they dont work. My .02 worth anyway.

I have been using the XP3 Hornet (electronic) for about 3 months. It does seem to help. I live in an area with a large deer population. My ride to work is 13 miles of mostly wooded 2 lane roads at 6:00 am. I see deer almost everyday (this time of year). The device seems to help get them moving. Now when a deer comes into range of my headlights, it's already heading back towards the woods or across the road. I'm not saying that it's a 100% effective, but I have noticed a difference in the way the deer respond to my approach. I figure that even if it only gives me slightly better odds, it's worth the price. And, it's chrome so it doesn't look bad on the bike.

Hello! Would you have a pic of it on your bike? Also, where did you get it at and is the install easy! I'm not sure if they are really effective either, but it might and also supply piece of mind! I see lots of deer here in the NM wilderness, and on my rides up into CO. Thanks!

I run a collision center. See cars with and without them here for work after hitting a deer. I run them on my car. I can say they do sometimes pick up their heads when I am coming. BUT is mateing season most parts of the country for the next month +. When thy get chasing the does the ony thing that will stop them is a bullit. or the doe giving up. BEWARE . !!!!

GJCARVING...Sorry, I don't have a pic of it on the bike yet, but mine is installed on the left hand side just below the windshield mounting bracket. There is a bracket where the passing lamps bolt on (I think), so mine hangs just below and behind my left turn signal. But, it can be mounted almost anywhere as long as it's less than 3 ft off the ground. It was super easy to install. I took off the tank and seat and ran the wire along the frame top rail back to the battery. I purchased the optional toggle switch so I can turn it off when not needed and mounted it under the back of my seat on the left hand side. About 30 minutes to install. The kit came with several mounting brackets, so you have options. I got mine from Dennis Kirk, but you can get it at Kuryakyn or direct from the XP3 website. Check out the website for more info.

I don't know if it works or not, but I've NEVER seen a dear. What I do is kinda dumb, but like I said I've never seen a dear so maybe it works?

When ever I am in the lead or driving alone on roads that I believe there might be dear is simply honk my horn about ever minute or so or every mile. I know the dear hate the horn and tyically run from the sound.

Doesn't hurt to try it! Do what ever works, right?

I think they work as a deer CALL, not an alert. Actually, most of the deer seem to hear me coming, even with stock, and they don't come across.....now that I've said that, I've probably jinkesed myself and I'll have a herd run out in front of me next time I'm on the bike.
