For me it was 5hp mini bike 450 Kowasaki 550 Suzuki 650 BSA (chopper) 800 Suzuki Intruder 1200 GoldWind Aspencade 1602 Road Star Silverado Whats next? Rode it for about a year and a half then took a long break. After years of going to Daytona I wanted a bike my 3 choices were: - a custom, or a kit and build it myself; one was too $$$$, and the other wasn't the best choice for my first cruiser. - a softtail standard or a fatboy, standard was too small and both were at the time still too $$$$$$. - a roadstar, why? It was a carburated,air cooled,belt driven, softtail. Sorry to some but I NEVER considered any other metric. Found a '01 midnight* with 7,900 miles for $6,500. Easily half the price of a Harley. Honda 90 (5hp) Honda CL175 Yamaha DT250 Kawasaki 350 Triple (2 cycle) hang on tight!
