Need reassurance 2 Months, 1 Week ago
Local Suzuki dealer going out of business, everything 50% off. Bought a case (12 qts) of Suzuki 20-50 Synthetic Oil for $34.00 ($2.84 qt). All snythetic oils are as good as the other. Am I right?

Test results for Syn's vary just like dino's do, but will it work for your bike? And will it be ok to use. Yes.

Good thing to ask before you buy. No. Not all oils are created equal. Not saying the Suzuki oil isn't good. Probably made by the same people who make other good oil under different labels. But your bike might not like it. Speaking for myself I wouldn't buy a case of oil before I tried it in my bike.

Here's my theory on oil, I like to be able to see thru it, I know this may seem silly but it just seems that the oil is that much cleaner from the start. Maybe I'm wrong but it's just my thing; plus I like Lucas.

For me, it all depends on how it tastes.

Do different brands taste different?

Yes. So far, AMSOIL is pretty tasty... Hints of eastern spice with overtones of squished brontosaurus.

The brontosaurus. THAT'S what I couldn't put my finger on. I thought it was T-Rex, but that's the gear oil.

What the others said, 6hrtbt3. My scoot doesn't seem to like the Yami oil - makes it sound like a sewing machine. The Suzi brand may/may not affect your bike the same way. I like the national brands myself. JMHO.

That's correct ... you bike may 'like' some oils better than others. I know for mine I don't like Valvoline.

12 Qts is only 3 oil changes so if it doesn't sound right it's not a big deal ... it wont' harm the engine.

And here I was thinking Amsoil was a pure synthetic.........not a syn./dino blend. BB
