I know that this is something that I could look up on the net, but I want to know, does YOUR state (and what state is that) have the mandatory helmet law, and do you agree with it?

Wisconsin, no mandatory law, and I think it's ones own choice, my choice it to wear mine 99.9% of the time.

Georgia has a mandatory helmet use law and I'm going to go "no comment" on my views about that. No sense in kicking a hornet nest on here.

Massachusetts Mandatory helmet law. Rhode Island Passenger is Mandatory sometime ride without when I am in RI

Mississippi has a mandatory helmet law. And I don't believe in any law that forces a grown, tax paying individual to do anything "for their own good".
Legally, the way the law is written, it's impossible to comply with it so almost anything on your head should pass.
"No person shall operate or ride upon any motorcycle or motor scooter upon the public roads or highways of this state unless such person is wearing on his or her head a crash helmet of the type and design inspected and approved by the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators"
I emailed the "American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators" and their reply was that have never inspected or approved any helmet and that many years ago another group took over that job. I emailed that group and the reply was that they have never inspected or approved any either.

I wasn't looking to kick any hornets nest or dredge up old subjects, sorry if that's what you though. I'm just curious if the readers of this site felt that it's better to have the law, or let people choose. After all, tomorrow is election day and we have a lot more people to vote for than just the President.

Yup, Rono's right... rider and passenger here in MA must wear helmet. In RI next door, only the passenger must.

California has a helmet law, when I was a little younger and dumber I didn’t wear one but know my choice it to wear it I like my brain to stay inside my head.
