That's good to know. Now that it's cold, I use my 3/4 DOT/Snell helmet, but the rest of the time, I use a DOT half-helmet.

I like FL no helmet law ....I have one cost about 150.00 but never use it my wife's cost about 175.00 and she won't ride without it.I think there all about the same if there DOT.and Snell rated.I had a snell in 1985 while I was stationed in Germany in the Army and loved it. I think it cost about 250.00 back then.

Re:Helmets 2 Months ago
I have and use daily a HJC full face with a lift-able chin bar and Sun shade built in. I love it! yes I paid over $200 for it, but it was the "Mac Daddy" and I knew that I would use it daily. I bought my girlfriend a Full face Scorpion, and it wasn't as much as the function as it "matches her jacket" and it was "pretty".
Womans Leather MC Jacket $250
Scorpion Full face helmet $225
Leather gloves $45
Leather chaps $175

So much for free

I use a coconut with a bra from an ex-girlfriend for the liner. lol (hey.....it sounded funny IN my head.)

anyways, I have a "Helmet laws suck" patch across the back of my overalls. I get some really strange looks when I'm wearing a helmet here in TX where you only have to be over 18 & have proper insurance. Smart people realize that its the law that sucks and not the helmet itself. I believe we should have a choice. I wear one about 75% of the time. The other 25% I just don't plan on having an accident. You know....since you can plan those things.

Re:Helmets 2 Months ago
This pretty much settles the argument, for me:

Thanks for the article, too.

Re:Helmets 2 Months ago
Okay... That's a little extreme, but when I take my wife or daughter along, I think that's not such a bad idea.
