Seats 2 Months ago
I'm looking for a new, more comfortaable seat for my new R*. I currently have stock. Has anyone tried or does anyone own the ones available form Pacific Coast Star? The price seems right. Anyone recommend any other brand replacement?

How do you "Fix" a stock seat? How does that compare to some of the namebrand seats like Ultra and Mustang?

I purchased a Corbin Solo seat with the touring pillion in May and have done over 8000 miles on it so far. Absolutely love it. Granted its a little pricy but, if you do alot of miles its well worth the money spent. Cant compare it to any other brand since all I have had is either stock or Corbin.

You can do a search for PCS. They've been talked about here.

Re:Seats 2 Months ago
I sent my stocker to Pacific Coast Star. I like it way better now than before. I sit down in it rather than on top of it. They trim down the foam and put the stock cover back on. It feels more like my Corbin dual touring seat I use when the wife and I travel. Hope this helped.

Check out Papabears website www.buttbuffernfl.com
He removes some of the stock foam and shapes and adds better foam to make your seat more comfortable.

Re:Seats 2 Months ago
I've got the PCS seat, and I liked the difference it made; I could only go around 45mins on the stock seat, and after the PCS remold I could break the 1:30 if I absolutely had to......but my wife could not live with the stock passenger seat; I was looking to buy a mustang passenger seat for her, and cam across a mustang driver/passenger with driver backrest on ebay for just a little over $350 (incredibly cheap if you have shopped around) so I jumped on it; it was used from a wrecked bike, but the only problem was the mounting bracket on the driver seat needing new screws...quick trip to the HD store (home depot....not the other HD that would charge $10 per screw ) and I was all set.

Haven't taken a long ride with the mustang, but I definitely think its a huge difference just sitting in my carport, and the wife is happy with it too. For what its worth, PCS says their reform pushes you a little forward compared to the stocker; I didn't notice this, but I definitely notice that with the mustang---in fact, I was at a riding skills practice day put on by the local police dept this weekend, and they were telling us to ride farther forward...I didn't feel completely comfortable in the position they were putting me with the PCS seat, but the mustang forces you nearly into the position they were recommending for optimal lean on higher speed turns and slow cone courses.

I'd find it hard to swallow the full retail on a mustang set, and I would have lived without it had I not found the deal I did, but I now see why some people consider this a priority purchase.

Re:Seats 2 Months ago
I put 350 miles on my stock seat in one trip and was not comfortable. I also found a 3 piece Mustang seat on Ebay for about $350 so I bought it and installed it a couple weeks ago. So far I really like it much better then the stock seat. I would have also considered an Ultimate but I couldn't find a deal on one. I'' know more after I take a 1000 mile trip that I have planned, but so far I'm happy with the Mustang with the backrest.
